Painting Contractor Serving All of Oahu

Kapili Painting has worked every part of this island since 2007 — windward, leeward, coastal, and inland. Oahu isn't one climate, and a coating system that lasts eight years in Mililani can fail in three in Waianae. We assess your specific exposure before we quote, then provide a written, itemized estimate at no cost.

Where You Live Changes What Your Paint Needs

A house in Kailua and a house in Ewa Beach sit twenty-five miles apart and fail in completely different ways. Windward walls hold moisture and grow mildew in the shade. Leeward and Ewa exteriors bake and chalk under constant sun. Anything near the water carries salt into every surface it touches.

That's why we don't quote from a photo or a square-foot table. We walk the property, look at which way each wall faces, and spec the system for that exposure.

One Island, Five Very Different Painting Environments

Honolulu · Waikiki · Kaimuki · Kahala · Manoa · Diamond Head · Kalihi · Moanalua · Salt Lake

Sustained UV on south-facing elevations, with salt exposure on anything near the water. High-density housing and older building stock mean more stucco repair and more lead-safe considerations on pre-1978 homes. South and west walls chalk and fade years ahead of the rest of the structure.

Kailua · Kaneohe · Waimanalo · Laie · Kahuku

The wettest side of the island. Persistent rain and humidity mean moisture and mildew are the primary failure modes, not UV. Coatings need to breathe or trapped moisture lifts them off the substrate. We treat for mildew before priming and schedule around rain windows rather than pushing through them.

Kapolei · Ewa Beach · Waipahu · Kunia · Nanakuli · Waianae · Makaha

The hottest, driest, and most UV-intense part of Oahu, with heavy salt loading along the coast. Metal fasteners, railings, and flashing corrode before the paint film shows failure, so coastal work here gets corrosion-inhibiting primers as standard rather than as an upsell.

Mililani · Wahiawa · Aiea · Pearl City

The mildest conditions on the island and the longest coating life. Moderate UV, moderate rainfall, less salt. Newer tract housing here is often Hardie board and stucco, where the seams and control joints matter more than the field surfaces.

Haleiwa · Waialua · Sunset · Pupukea

Heavy seasonal rain, constant trade winds, and salt carried well inland. Wind-driven rain finds any gap in caulking or flashing, so joint sealing matters as much as coating selection. Older plantation-era wood siding is common and needs more scraping and spot-priming than newer substrates.
